Medical Insurance

UND offers fully-paid medical insurance premiums as well as dental and vision insurance options.

NDPERS Medical Insurance Plans

UND offers fully-paid health insurance premiums for both single and family plan (basic or high-deductible insurance options are available). Enrollment must take place within 31 days of hire date to receive waiver of existing medical condition. UND medical insurance provides group hospital, surgical and medical protection.

NDPERS Dakota Wellness Program

The NDPERS Dakota Wellness Program $250 Benefit is available for all eligible members and their covered spouses participating in the NDPERS group health insurance plan.

This benefit is taxable according to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) memorandum #201622031 which advises that cash payments made to members for gym memberships and other cash-equivalent incentives (i.e. gift cards and prizes) for participation in a wellness program are taxable income. Contact your payroll department for details on how this benefit will be reported throughout your organization.
